What is the life expectancy of flexible air ducts?
When properly installed per the Air Diffusion Council (ADC) installation instructions (furnished in each package), flexible air ducts should last for the life of the dwelling.

Your pressure ratings are different than some flex ducts. Why?
JPL tests and publishes positive pressures based on results of the ADC FD 72-R1 test method. This method requires a 90-degree elbow of the duct and temperatures up to 180 F. Many of our competitors with higher pressures test the ducts with no bends and at room temperatures.

Is your insulation 100% formaldehyde free?
No, the insulation we use isn't 100% formaldehyde free, but neither is any other fiberglass insulation currently available. JP Lamborn Co. does use however Owens Corning GreenGuard® Indoor Air Quality Certified insulation which has been tested to ensure their chemical & particle emissions meet stringent guidelines and standards.

Does JPL flex qualify for the OC Builder Alliance™ Program?
Yes, we certainly do. As just one of a handful of flex producers who use Owens Corning Pink Insulation exclusively, builders can earn an additional ½ point promotional allowance when using JPL flex duct.

What do you mean by a "Certified" R value?
The R-Value of every JPL insulated flex duct has been verified by a third party inspector at both the insulation manufacturers' plants and our own assembly plants. When purchasing a JPL product with a certified R-Value of R4.2, R6 or R8 you’re assured the R-Value will perform as advertised. Many code jurisdictions now require certified R-Values.

Are there any flex duct installation precautions with UVC?
Yes, the inner core of most flex ducts is susceptible to Ultra Violet light and may become brittle if exposed for long periods of time. JPL suggests 1 foot distance from the UV source on foil back MNI25, 2 feet on all polyester inner cores and 5 feet on AMBlue & AMF-07 installations.

What type of product warranty does JPL have?
